Why should I be interested?

Retailing is becoming increasingly more competitive. As margins become tighter and turnover is harder to improve it is evermore important to be in control of your business. This means knowing exactly what your margins are on each product, your precise stock levels and what deliveries are due. Conventional tills do not give you this information.

MICROPOS is a till system based on a computer, able to collect sales information on every item sold, monitor your margins, maintain your stock levels and generate orders to send to your suppliers. Unlike conventional tills our system can be upgraded and adapted as your business grows. This is achieved either by adding on extra equipment - such as a credit card reader for EFT payments and customer loyalty cards, or by installing more software to offer new facilities (such as product information, etc.).

Another advantage of MICROPOS is that communications with a back office computer, or a remote computer (at home or in another branch) is much easier than with an old-fashioned till. Our MICROPOS system is simple to operate, fast and reliable. It gives you an opportunity to have tight cash control, correct margins, and good stock management.

What is it?

At the heart of MICROPOS is a computer installed with our software. This software acts as a till, whilst also allowing you to enter deliveries, adjust stock details, and run reports (stock valuation, margins, low stock, etc.). If you have a back office PC you can choose to run the stock control program from there, with the till reporting sales and cash information to it and receiving new product information from it.

Connected to this system is a receipt printer, an EPOS keyboard, a cash drawer, a report printer, and a barcode scanner. An EPOS keyboard is very similar to a till keyboard, and has relegendable key tops. Like a till keyboard it is very durable. A receipt printer is a small and narrow printer that produces receipts on standard till roll type paper, keeping the cost of operation down. The cash drawer is exactly the same as a till cash drawer. Extra inserts and inserts with lockable lids are available if required. You can choose either a handheld barcode scanner or a flatbed scanner (which can also be mounted vertically).
